This report documents the design, test, and development of a high temperature digitalrotary position transducer. Use of magnetic sensors in this shaft encoder eliminates the need for brushes or light sources to create the eightbit digital output signal. Included in the project was environmental testing and on-engine operation. A digital electronic readout instrument was built to aid circuit development and testing. The simple construction of the encorder makes this device well suted for aircraft engine applications. (Author)
