Results of calculating OTTO HAHN's responses to regular waves by the strip-theory with the parameters hip speed, draught, and encounter angle. The modelling of the reactor response to ship motions is discussed next. Power spectral densities from measurements in a heavy sea demonstrate the change of the encounter frequency with the ship's course in accordance with theory. Finally, cross spectral densities between signals from ship motion sensors and the reactor instrumentation show the feasibility of identifying this multiple input/output system. (Stoehr)
