Dynamic vibration response characteristics are presented for aluminum beams damped by viscoelastic constrained layer mechanisms. Damping tape prepared from a thin unidirectional graphite reinforced composite and viscoelastic adhesive was evaluated for damping performance as a function of temperature, frequency, strain, adhesive, and fiber orientation.
