The study was divided into three areas: 1) the effects of material and geometric variables, time and temperature on the fracture toughness of the fiberglass laminates; 2) cyclic fatigue crack propagation; and 3) marine environment effects. In each case, the mechanisms of fracture in fiberglass hull material have been studied with a view toward preventing catastrophic failures. (DePo)
