The Spacelab ECS/ECLS project recently passed one of the most important program milestones - the Critical Design Review (CDR). The successful completion of the review and related actions was the release for the manufacturing of the flight unit environmental control and life support subsystem. Extensive performance testing on subsystem development level and qualification tests on component level established the basis to certificate the ECS/ECLS flight-adequate design. The detailed paper describes the subsystem level test and the major feedback into the design and, as a result, the Spacelab ECS/ECLS Flight Unit Design. (Kursetz)
