The development of the space shuttle hydraulic flight control system precipitated a major shift in emphasis from hydraulic system verification by test to verification by analysis. New and more sophisticated analytical techniques were required to analyze the very complex space shuttle system. The paper discusses the development and application of the analytical models which were required to obtain the final verification of the space shuttle hydraulic flight control system. (Wassmann)
