A computer program is being developed for use in designing a pneumatic capsule pipeline for a particular transport task. It is based on data obtained from the 600 mm diameter test facility at Milton Keynes. This paper describes the use of these data to verify the simulation model which predicts the operating conditions of the pipeline, and the costing of the alternative pipeline designs to enable the minimum cost system to be selected, and to compare its cost with the cost of alternative transport modes.
