The paper gives a survey of the accumulated service experience of K-GF engines from which the L-GF engines are derived so as to assess the reliability pattern of the engine components and their impact on propulsion availability as well as on volume of maintenance work. The impact on maintenance conditions from a foreseeable decay of fuel oil quality is discussed. Distribution of service costs are presented and various ways of their minimization are indicated.(Wassmann)
