The overall presentation is an overview of the technical aspects of the application of graphite-composite materials to spacecraft structures. Relevant material characteristics and their impact on design are discussed and typical data are presented. Design and analytical considerations are then reviewed. Several examples of current and proposed applications are described. These include the Space Telescope, the HEAO-B Optical Bench, and future ultra-large orbital structures. (Hannebauer)
