A 67-ft. commercial shrimp trawler was constructed using CA-706 (88.6 Cu, 10 Ni, 1.4 Fe) as the hull material to ascertain the practicality of such construction from economic and durability standpoints. Four years of inservice testing have proved that CA-706 is a highly practical hull material for this application.
