A selected aerospace structure (F-14 wing beam) was successfully SSEB welded, thus demonstrating equipment capability to fabricate production parts. Tensile, fatigue and fracture toughness results are presented for a welded wing beam. Recommendations for further improvement or refinement of the SSEB welding equipment are included. A recommended industry equipment and a welding specification for aluminum, titanium and steel alloys are also included. (Kursetz)
