The dynamics of a flexible platform consisting of an array of three neutrally buoyant inflated tapered legs attached to central head, connected to a surface float by a cable is studied. A general Lagrangian formulation of the problem is presented accounting for the hydrodynamic forces. For small oscillations, inplane and out-of-plane motions decouple and are analyzed separately. The former corresponds to the flexural-rotational motion of the array in its own plane while the latter describes the vertical oscillations of the surface float along with the flexural-rotational motion normal to the array. Variation of the natural frequencies with system parameters is investigated, which should prove useful in a design procedure aimed at avoiding resonance under the operating sea conditions.
