Under microgravity conditions, there will be neither floating nor sinking of materials, no heat convection, no static pressure, etc. and various kinds of material processing such as crystallization from the molten state, solution or gaseous phase, float/molten material processing, etc. can be carried out. Materials to be used for experiments may be compound semiconductors, superconductors, amorphous organic molecules, bio-crystals, noncompound alloys, dispersed reinforced alloys, ceramics, etc. For research and development of these new materials, it will be necessary to seek material functions and a structural control method.
