The development of a unique Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) chip called the 'associative comparator' by IBM enhances the effectiveness of Electronic Support Measures (ESM) systems in the complex electronic battlefield. The associative comparator brings increased throughput and reliability and reduced size, weight, power, and cost to the design of ESM signal processors.
