The problem of reducing the dimensions and weight of electrical devices of transportation installations is discussed. A technique of functional integration is proposed for its solution. The functional attributes of a group of complex electrical devices are analyzed and requirements are formulated for an element base suitable for their realisation by this method. Nonsteady-state circuits are considered as the limit base for multifunction devices. Examples are given of electrical devices constructed with the aid of nonsteady-state circuits by the technique of functional integration.
