The optimum design parameters and metrological characteristics of the corona-discharge transducer that is insensitive to the air speed have been investigated. Two corona transducers are used, one of which performs the measurements and the other is the compensating one. The two are made as cylinders differing in length and diameter from brass gauze. They have a common tungsten corona electrode, which passes through them and is tensioned by a spring. Operational characteristics and some experimental results are presented.
