Examines the relationship between satellites and C3I. Satellite autonomy is defined and its implementation considered. The Autonomous Redundancy and Maintenance Management Subsystem (ARMMS) concept is also discussed. ARMMS is a box which can be mated to existing satellites to add autonomous capability.
