In the last few years the development of new solid-state sensor concepts as well as advanced magnetic and thin film sensor concepts has made great progress. This development leads to the development of data acquisition systems, which are required for the realization of successful automotive control systems. The authors present an assessment of such automotive data acquisition systems and review interface requirements.
