The culmination of the development life cycle of a complex missile system simulation is its use in demonstrating performance for a system ready to go into production. To have an accepted role in this process, a simulation must go through a formal activity known as simulation validation. This validation establishe that a given simulation is a complete and correct model of the system it represents, and will, therefore, give performance identical to that which would be obtained from the system itself.
