Owing to the power demands and in order to reduce investment costs, the Paris-South Eastern Region railway line will be supplied by a single phase 25 kV supply from concentrated substations. The double 25 kV supply is used in two zones to allow increasing separation between substations. The requirements of traction and constraints imposed by the 225 kV network are described.
