Of the transmission lines for vehicular communications the heavy coupled line is most superior in transmission characteristic. An experiment was made on a model system in which images created by this line on a TV camera mounted on a vehicle was observed on the ground. As expected, images obtained had a high rate of resolution, giving a hint to the development of a large-capacity transmission system for vehicular communications. The report describes the properties of the heavy coupled transmission line, mechanism of its coupling with vehicles, performance of image signal transmitter and receiver including telemetry, and properties of the line as applied to an experimental new transit system.
