Urban traffic models are used to help the designer to conceive and to test alternative schemes in urban traffic management. The objective is to improve the flows in the city. The authors present a synthesis of six models of traffic having different potential uses: assignment, control, simulation. It emphasizes the different techniques of simulation and modelisation that have been chosen to represent traffic flow.
