In the peak hour 144 trains will pass through the junctions on each side of Chatelet, once the RATP-SNCF interconnection project is completed in Paris. To schedule trains at 60 sec headways automatic driving and supervision of movements by computer is considered essential, but manual driving will be retained outside the central area. A form of moving block using several short track circuits will allow trains to enter a platform as the preceding train is pulling out.
