Excellent resistance to seawater corrosion is expected of repeater housing materials used in the CS-36M Submarine Cable system. This paper is concerned with the results of experiments on more than thirty specimens of copper alloys, steel and titanium alloys. The test reveals Be-Cu alloy to be more corrosion resistive than other materials. Parallel tests were carried out to determine the effect of housing part shape and for comparing repeater housing manufacturing processes.
