Describes the PL-41 inertial gyro-stabilised computer-corrected navigational system manufactured by the German associate of Litton Industries. The vertical reference is a Schuler pendulum, stabilising a platform on which is mounted the main gyrocompass. The control system is fully integrated with all the navigational aspects of the ship, being able to receive inputs from radio-navigational aids, from radar, and from satellite systems, and issuing corrections for the ship's log etc. Constructional details are given.
