Describes the predictive performances of a RADAR vehicle detector that is being developed as an adequate jamming sensor in a tunnel. When traffic, speed, and time occupancy measurements are requested of a single sensor, they have different interests about its installation angle. The nature of traffic flow near jamming is reviewed, and optimum allotment of each performance is discussed. The RADAR sensor gives more collect information as compared with traditional presence sensors. The necessary installation conditions are selected from the calculating procedure and estimated values are presented here.
