The lift, drag and guidance forces as a function of velocity have been found exactly for a vehicle carrying a finite number of fixed current alternating polarity superconducting magnets running at various heights over single and double looped structured track guideways. The numerical results obtained are compared with previous approximate solutions. The analysis shows that the suspension and guidance of vehicles moving at speeds of up to 150 ms-1 is technically feasible and the material requirements are modest.
