This efficiency metering circuit determines the efficiency of each cylinder by preventing being fired for a predetermined period. A differential tachometer then gives a reading showing the loss of speed. A comparison of the results will then show if each cylinder is producing the same amount of work. Block diagrams show the circuits for selecting the cylinder to be suppressed, for suppressing the spark and for supplying the tachometer signal to the galvanometer.
