For pt.I see ibid., vol.16, no.3, p.130 of 1975. Examines the key problems of environmental evaluation and the particular problems posed by network appraisal. It is then shown how these problems have combined to shape the form of the JURUE (Joint Unit for Research on the Urban Environment) methodology. The remainder of the paper is chiefly directed towards illustrating the use of the methodology in a practical context which is taken from a case study of network options in the London Borough of Hammersmith.
