The computer method described splits the task into two parts: selection of the alignment, and calculation of slews. Visual display techniques are employed and a suitable program using graphics has been written. Data is input to the visual display unit, and by using a light pen and pedal control, the designer can superimpose upon the screen any target curve which he considers appropriate.
