The experiences gained with TACSAT I and LES-6 systems are outlined and future development employing GAP FILLERS, DSCS and FLTSATCOM systems are discussed. The fleet broadcast receiving system using differentially coherent phase shift keying is briefly described. Antennas for the u.h.f. SATCON system and the development of a shipboard s.h.f. SATCOM system are outlined. Modifications of shipboard terminals with the aim to obtain increased information capacity, higher reliability, resistance to jamming, etc., are discussed.
