The continued efforts of scientists and engineers are increasing the effectiveness of the ABDR program. The innovation design concept and materials for new systems will facilitate battle damage repair as well as reduce the effects of hostile fire. Survivability is the key to remaining competitive in combat. Part of that survivability is achieved through a strong ABDR capability. The US Air Force is continuing its efforts to develop a highly capable Aircraft Battle Damage Repair Program. These efforts will result in future aircraft that incorporate designs providing combat survivability and damage tolerance. The future is Aircraft Battle Damage Repair, but the future is now because one more sortie could be the deciding factor in the outcome of any conflict.
