A prototype expert work station has been constructed to generate tests for Ada units. The control structure of the Ada program is automatically extracted and is represented as a decision table. A compiler syntax analyzer has been modified to accomplish this. The conditions and the rules of the decision are then translated into PROLOG and become the input to the interactive test generator. After we have some experience in applying this prototype to flight control units written in Ada, the control analyzer will be rewritten using a full Ada compiler, and the expert system will be extended to be more complete. This system will be part of a comprehensive methodology that formally represents the specifications in executable language. Thus, the specifications will be testable and will act as test monitors for integration testing.
