At the Logistics and Human Factors Division of the Air Force Human Resources Laboratory, the focus of our automated tech data research is on user acceptance of computer technology and on performance enhancement by the application of automation in the maintenance environment. The Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) program will integrate existing and developing computerized maintenance data bases with the automated technical data system, and add diagnostic job aids to increase the ability of technicians to perform fault isolation. The Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) is expected to be the first application opportunity for IMIS.
