An Aerospace Sponsored Research activity has been defined to determine the impact that an autonomous maintenance capability would have on a conceptual spacecraft attitude control system design. A Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) three-axis control system was selected for study. It is also the intent to develop a technology data base for future autonomous spacecraft designs. Some of the concepts investigated included fault detection and isolation for attitude determination and control subsystems. Many of the concepts have been verified by simulation.
