The DARPA Strategic Computing program is focusing advanced hardware and software technology for three primary military areas: The Autonomous Land Vehicle for the Army, the Pilot's Associate for the Air Force, and Battle Management for the Navy. There are two parts of the Navy Battle Management Program; an afloat effort onboard the nuclear aircraft carrier, USS Carl Vinson, and an ashore effort at the headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Fleet in Hawaii.
