The paper gives first results of experiments with a Plasma-Pulse-Accelerator (PPA). It consists of a metallic barrel with an inner concentric pin. The mass to be accelerated is located in front of the pin. By discharging a capacitor bank into the small volume between the bottom of the mass and the pin a high pressure plasma is generated accelerating the mass. The PPA has a length of 0.6 m and a bore of 14 mm. Velocities up to 1600 m/s and system efficiencies of 10 % were obtained with masses between 3 and 40 g.
