The existing fuel injection systems for gasoline engines have reached a high technical standard. However, there is a continuous need for improvement of existing functions and for implementation of new functions. The described developments for KE-Jetronic (KE 3), L-Jetronic (L 3 and LH 2.3) and Motronic (M 2) are scheduled for production start in the 1985/86 time frame. Future requirements concerning performance, emissions, fuel economy and driveability will be met by these system innovations.
