A new idea is proposed for the determination and tracking of the position of communication and broadcasting satellites by T/F methods. The basic idea of the method is that the ranging is not performed at every Earth station but only at one by returning the same signal from the other Earth stations. By the measurement of the times of propagation the individual distances are determined, thus the position of the satellite is obtained. The uncertainty of the determination of the position of the satellite mainly depends on the accuracy of the determination of the ground equipment delays and the locations of the Earth stations.
