The Intelsat VI spacecraft power subsystem is designed to supply all spacecraft power throughout the 10 year design life of the spacecraft. In addition to supplying normal loads, the power subsystem clears load faults and maintains spacecraft power in all emergency conditions. This lightweight, efficient subsystem is highly redundant, leading to virtually 100 % reliability over the 10 year design lifetime. The subsystem has been designed with ample power margin and includes provisions for graceful payload growth of 200 watts above the baseline.
