The Center for Electromechanics (CEM) at the University of Texas at Austin has developed the technology for the design of an all iron rotating, 6.2 megajoule compact homopolar generator. This generator was developed by the Center for Electromechanics for the U.S. Army Armament Research and Development Command under contract DAAK10-80-0309.
