We have examined some of the advantages and pitfalls of multiplex wiring systems by installing prototypes on the Motocar, and now have first-hand experience of such systems. By itself, though, this is not enough: we need to know what the industry thinks. It is here that our organisation at Milton Keynes, by establishing an informed dialogue with our customers who will be manufacturing or installing multiplex systems, will be able to determine the most cost effective design of semiconductor for each type of system. We will be able to minimise the compromises that need to be made to realise production systems, thus maximising the benefits in construction, use and maintenance.
