The various radiometers for the precise observation of sea phenomenon are installed in marine observation satellite (MOS-1) which will be launched in 1986. The total peak power consumption of the equipment connected to the bus-line of the satellite is 400 watts. This is much higher than any other satellite developed in Japan. Then, as one of the important components for the power subsystem of MOS-1, we developed a boost converter with high power capacity (400w) and high efficiency (80 % Above).During eclipse, this converter is used for supplying the power output to the bus-line from the satellite battery with regulated voltage (29 plus/minus 0.6 V).
