Just over three years ago in December 1974 the staff of Aston Martin Lagonda were given an unexpected and not too pleasant a Christmas present - the company was bankrupt. The future looked bleak as two names which for years had always been associated with luxury motoring in a sporting style seemed destined to disappear from the motoring scene, to be preserved only by the efforts of countless enthusiasts as mementoes of a former era. Thoroughbreds of this heritage do not surrender easily, however, and in June 1975, a new company, Aston Martin Lagonda (1975) Ltd. was formed.
