Essential functions for the maritime mobile telephone service are performed by the program stored in D10 electronic switching system. Signaling on radio channels used by roaming customers in common, call connection by referring to the subscriber's data file in the remote 'Home Memory Office', location registration in the memory and charging a message rate proportional to the distance to a mobile customer, are typical functions required for the call processing program.
