3 communications companies have volunteered to invest about 14,5 million dollars in a consortium to operate a 2-ocean ship-to-shore satellite system for the US Navy and the merchant marine: RCA Globcom, ITT Worldcom and Western Union International. For the first time a system with three satellites is provided.
