The occurrence of deck wetness for ships with forward speed is predicted using a non-linear strip method in both regular and irregular head seas. The approach is validated with experimental data for the container ship model S-175. Once green water has taken place, a simplified model of green water flow on deck is simulated using CFD. Loads on deck and a vertical wall downstream are validated as well.
