The analysis of telecommunications and transport systems interaction has great relevance for urban planning. To this objective, estimates of substitutive and/or stimulative impacts of communications on travel demand are necessary. Since this is not possible at the moment, an exercise is made under various assumptions of impacts for the city of Bombay and quantitative scenarios in respect of projected passenger trips in 2001 A.D. are presented.
