This paper established a damaged aircraft model and developed a fault-tolerant controller based on incremental nonlinear dynamic inversion with prescribed performance to enhance flight safety. This fault-tolerant controller can rapidly stabilize the damaged aircraft, and tracking error is always within the prescribed boundaries in the whole process. Thus, the transient and steady-state performance of the damaged aircraft is guaranteed. Simulation results demonstrate that the developed fault-tolerant controller can achieve satisfactory control performance and improve aircraft flight safety.
