This study provides an overview of hydrogen’s utilization in the aviation industry. The aviation industry is still dependent on carbon-based fuels today. Kerosene, which is used as an aircraft fuel, is not environmentally friendly due to the greenhouse effect and is not a renewable energy source. Sustainable aviation fuels are being investigated as a possible replacement for kerosene fuel. Hydrogen is the most promising energy carrier among these alternative fuels. Many research has been performed in the aviation industry to be utilized as fuel in aircraft and airports. This study presents a summary of the findings into using hydrogen energy in airports and aircraft, as well as its future viability.
